    Upcoming Career Services Opportunities

The Washington & Jefferson College Office of Career Services has many upcoming events geared to help students and alumni network and find job opportunities in various fields.

The annual Etiquette Dinner will be held Tuesday, February 19, 2013, at 6:00 p.m. Students will learn from the experts on how to act at a formal dinner meeting. Students will also have the chance to network with local professionals. Encourage your sons and daughters to participate in the free event. Students can contact careerservices@washjeff.edu to register. Registration is granted on a first-come-first-serve basis.

In March, there will be two events helping students connect with local employers and find careers and internships. WestPACS, being held Wednesday, March 13, 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. at Monroeville Convention Center in Monroeville, Pa., is the largest job fair in the Pittsburgh region. Students can register free at www.westpacs.org until March 11 and walk-in cost is $10. This is a great opportunity for your to-be graduates to talk to local employers and find out about professional opportunities in their realm of study.

The Pittsburgh Education Recruitment Consortium Teacher Job Fair will take place on Wednesday, March 20, 2013, from 9:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. at the Monroeville Convention Center. Students can sign up by emailing the Office of Career Services at careerservices@washjeff.edu; alumni can sign up through www.percjobfair.org. Preregistration is $10 and walk-in cost is $25.

Early registration for these events is suggested.

Another resource for job and internship hunting is available on the College Central Network. Students and alumni can visit www.collegecentral.com/washjeff/ to sign up or learn more. The site is exclusive for W&J students and alumni, offering job and internship postings, an alumni mentor network, and tips for interviewing, resume building, etc.

For more information on these opportunities, please contact the Office of Career Services at careerservices@washjeff.edu.
