Ways Alumni Can Help

Ways Alumni Can Help
W&J offers a number of ways for alumni to stay involved in the life of the College, even from across the globe. From serving on committees to making a donation to the
annual fund,
each alumnus can contribute to the College in their own way. Read below to find a way that you can help!
To volunteer with the College, please begin by filling out
the Alumni Volunteer Form.
Reunion Committees
Each fall, at the conclusion of Homecoming, the alumni and development offices begin to assemble the next year's reunion
committees. These committees, representing reunion years from 45 through 20 years, have the important responsibility for recruiting other committee members, contacting classmates to encourage participation in the reunion and reunion gift, and participating in reunion meetings and pre-reunion events. If you are a class member celebrating a reunion and are interested in being part of a reunion committee, please contact Nita Myers at
jmyers@washjeff.edu
or 724-250-3033.

50th Reunion Committee
The 50th reunion is a momentous occasion for W&J Alumni and being a part of the reunion committee is a special way to become involved in the planning of both the weekend and the class gift. If you are a member of the class of 1963 and would like to be a part of the reunion committee or would like to find out more information, please contact Terese Hines, director of alumni relations, at
thines@washjeff.edu
or 724-223-5266.

Career Guidance
As an alumnus/alumna, you can help W&J students network and guide them down a successful career path by partnering with the
Office of Career Services
. With the career service office's resources, you can promote job opportunities/internships and mentor students in your particular career field. To volunteer your time consider registering in the online
W&J CCN – Mentoring Network
. By registering, you can briefly share your own career story and determine the way(s) you might become involved. Your involvement can be as easy as accepting questions about your career field, allowing an information interview, or critique resumes or host someone for shadowing. [Note: your contact information is not viewable by students/alumni]. Students communicate with you via email.

Outstanding Young Alumni Award

AEC members are nominated by fellow alumni, college faculty, and staff, or through self-nominations. You can submit a nomination

Regional Alumni Chapters
Regional chapters have successfully started in the Pittsburgh, Laurel Highlands, and Washington, DC areas within the last year. Regional chapters enable W&J alumni to gather informally and are run and organized by volunteers. Volunteer driven events augment the alumni and parent events which are sponsored by the Office of Alumni Relations.
Team up with W&J to create a regional chapter in your area! Regional chapters are a great way to keep alumni connected to W&J and fellow alumni in your area. If you are interested in creating an Alumni Chapter in your area, please contact the
Office of Alumni Relations.

Student and Alumni Networking Dinners
If you're looking for a low-obligation way to get involved with the College and its students, join us at the alumni house for one of our monthly dinners with students and alumni. The dinners, hosted by a member of the Alumni Relations staff, are held at the McCune Alumni House dining room table and are on an invite-only basis. There is no program at the dinner, other than introductions, which allows for questions from both students and alumni. Conversations often center around life after W&J, advice for students to follow during school, and what W&J was like for our alumni. To join the list of invitees, email
alumni@washjeff.edu
and let us know you'd be interested in attending. We'll keep you on the list of invites and you'll be contacted regarding upcoming dinner dates.
