February 22, 2010 W&J will celebrate Tuition Freedom Day for the first time!
The purpose of Tuition Freedom Day is to celebrate, educate and acknowledge the generosity of others. What most students and their families don't know about W&J is that tuition only covers about 68% of the cost of a W&J education. Gifts from alumni, parents, and friends make up the difference!
Each year, gifts to W&J through the annual fund support the daily operations of the College, including special programs, guest lectures, athletic equipment, travel costs, utilities, repairs, etc. Without gifts from alumni, parents, and friends of W&J, tuition would need to increase, on average, $9,000 per year. That is a huge investment in our students!
February 22 marks 68% of the way through the school year, therefore it will be named: Tuition Freedom Day! The rest of the school year is paid for by the W&J community of donors.
To celebrate, we are putting together a student video contest. These videos will be shared with the W&J community on Tuition Freedom Day.
