W&J offers a number of ways for alumni to stay involved in the life of the College, even from across the globe. From serving on committees to making a donation to the annual fund, each alumnus can contribute to the College in their own way. Read below to find a way that you can help! Help us find our lost alumni.
Reunion Committees
Each fall, at the conclusion of Homecoming, the alumni and development offices begin to assemble the next year's reunion committees. These committees, representing reunion years from 45 through 15 years, have the important responsibility for recruiting other committee members, contacting classmates to encourage participation in the reunion and reunion gift, and participating in reunion meetings and pre-reunion events. If you are a class member celebrating a reunion and are interested in being part of a reunion committee, please contact the Office of Alumni Relations.

50th Reunion Committee
The 50th reunion is a momentus occasion for W&J Alumni and being a part of the reunion committee is a special way to become involved in the planning of both the weekend and the class gift. If you are a member of the class of 1961 and would like to be a part of the reunion committee or would like to find out more information, please contact Sarah Sperry at ssperry@washjeff.edu or 724-250-3335.
Jay Admission Council
The Jay Admission Council (JAC) is composed of W&J alumni and parents. The members of the Council work with the Admission staff in the recruitment of qualified students from their immediate geographical areas. Members are knowledgeable about the application process and are kept abreast of current information through College publications and correspondence from the admission staff. The council is structured to serve the needs of prospective students and their families. If you would like to become a member of the Jay Council, please contact The Office of Admission or by telephone at 888-W-AND-JAY.
Career Guidance
As an alumnus/alumna, you can help W&J students network and guide them down a successful career path by partnering with the Office of Career Services. With the career service office's resources, you can promote job opportunities/internships and mentor students in your particular career field. To volunteer your time, complete the Career Service Volunteer Form and someone will be in touch with you.
Make a Gift
Alumni support through monetary donations not only supports current students and faculty, but also enhances the reputation of W&J through national rankings. Gifts of all sizes are important and are made easy through our on-line donation form at www.washjeff.edu/give or by calling our secure telephone line: 1-866-WNJ FUND. (1-866-965-3863). Questions about giving to the Annual Fund? Please contact Lori Dougherty, annual fund officer, at ldougherty@washjeff.edu or 724-503-1001 ext. 6073.
Award Nominations
The Alumni Relations Office annually presents three awards during Homecoming Weekend. The Distinguished
Service Award recognizes alumni and friends for loyalty and service to the College. The Alumni Achievement Award acknowledges alumni who have had great career and life achievements that have brought recognition to the College. The Outstanding Young Alumni Award is awarded to an alumnus/a who, within 15 years of their graduation from the College, has made significant contributions to his or her field or the College. Nominations for these awards are accepted by the Director of Alumni Relations throughout the year, and then are reviewed and selected by the Governance Committee of the Alumni Executive Council. To submit your nomination, use the nominations form.
Alumni Executive Council (AEC)
The AEC is the policy-making committee for the general alumni body. Elected members serve 4-year terms on the Council and meet twice a year. Within the Council, members serve on various committees (Governance, Communications and Programming) that act as working groups. AEC members are nominated by fellow alumni, college faculty, and staff, or through self-nominations. You can submit a nomination here. If you have questions regarding AEC, please contact Michele Hufnagel at mhufnagel@washjeff.edu.
Regional Alumni Chapters
Regional chapters have successfully started in the Pittsburgh, Laurel Highlands, and Washington, DC areas within the last year. Regional chapters enable W&J alumni to gather informally and are run and organized by volunteers. Volunteer driven events augment the alumni and parent events which are sponsored by the Office of Alumni Relations.
Team up with W&J to create a regional chapter in your area! Regional chapters are a great way to keep alumni connected to W&J and fellow alumni in your area. If you are interested in creating an Alumni Chapter in your area, please contact the Office of Alumni Relations. To find out more information, click here.
Mentor Program
Alumni can make a difference in the life of a W&J student by volunteering their time as a mentor. Mentorships are assigned through the Office of Alumni Relations on an annual basis. Learn more about this new initiative on the Mentor Program Page.
